Fuzzy Floor Pouf

Fuzzy Floor Pouf

I've been eyeing those fuzzy floor poufs at West Elm for ages. I figured I could probably make my own so I started digging around on the internet looking for a tutorial. I found this tutorial which used scrap fabric as the main stuffing for the pouf - which I liked because I have a ton of scrap fabric and it's free! I used some left over curtain lining I harvested from the original curtains to our house as the pouf form and then shoved all sorts of old fabric and articles of clothing into the pouf to fill it out. I topped it with poly fill like the tutorial suggested. I didn't love the look of top stitching the plain fabric and originally was going to cover the pouf with crochet rope like this tutorial...but I got impatient. So after a few attempts, I gave up on the crochet and ran to the craft store and bought the softest (cheapest) white fur fabric I could find. I had to hand stitch the last half of the base to fit the pouf inside the fur cover, but thankfully the fur fabric is pretty forgiving so it's hard to see my many mistakes :)
