Macrame Wall Hanging

I've sort of gone a little overboard with the macrame :) I LOVE IT. They're so subtle, but add lovely texture and color to a space. If you've ever made a friendship bracelet with hemp or fancy thread at summer camp, you can do macrame! It takes patience. My first few attempts I ended up completely taking apart and redoing multiple times before I got the knots to look the way I wanted. You can buy macrame cord online (I use this brand off Amazon) or at your local craft store - but call ahead, not all stores carry it. Basic wooden dowels from the craft store or Home Depot is what I've used for my base. Also, keep some white thread on hand - sometimes your design requires certain pieces with longer than others and I've found that it's easier to just stitch together another length of cord when your pieces get to long, than to try to do all the measuring beforehand. I got started using this and this tutorial.
