Well it's been a long three months since the last time I blogged. I kept telling myself that I would get to it...but at the end of the day when I finally have a moment of free time and it comes down to cleaning the kitchen, taking a nap, or writing a blog post...I've probably taken the nap more times than not! If you haven't heard (or seen) already, I am pregnant with baby number two! We find out gender sometime next month and are due in September!!
This is why I haven't blogged in three months (the entire first trimester), this is why I have been taking as many naps as my toddler, and this is why I still haven't sent out thank you cards for Connor's birthday party...which, by the way, I feel pretty awful about. I lost the list of who-got-Connor-what and I have given up all hope on making that happen this time around: so this is my formal thank you letter (and apology letter) to everyone who made Connor's birthday special! I know I'll get this parenting of two down at some point...apparently I'm already taking hits before the second one is even born though, so don't hold your breath.
The last three months have been awesome and exhausting. We have a full blown toddler on our hands. He is so busy and loves to run and play and be outside. He has the sweetest disposition: gentle, calm, observant, and generally happy and friendly. He's still a little traumatized by his 15 month check up (apparently he thinks every stranger wants to give him a shot). We also are pretty certain he has a minor nut allergy, so now we get to carry an epi pen around for him. Sorry kiddo, no peanut butter for you.
We were also lucky enough to have Dave's older sister Lindsey visit us for a whole month. She had time off between her rotation and match week and decided to come spend it with us! Of course Washington gave us a month's worth of beautiful weather to help us in trying to woo her into moving out here after her residency :) She also showed up during the worst part of my morning sickness all trimester. It was so amazing to have someone around who was willing to entertain Connor and help cook meals and clean up. I got to take a lot more naps than I should have and Connor got a lot more outdoor time than I would have been able to give him and I am so grateful for that. Of course Lindsey is also wonderful company so that was just icing on the cake.
We have started attending Doxa church in Bellevue as well. Some of you have heard the transition our church went through a few months ago. It was very hard on us and a lot of the people that we are very close with. After attending a church for 5ish years it feels like home. Having your home implode on you was devastating. We are so grateful to finally feel at home again at Doxa.
Easter was wonderful. We went to Sunday service, relaxed at home while Connor napped...well I relaxed, Dave fixed an outlet and ran to Home Depot to grab paint and drywall for a patch we need to make in the living room wall after purchasing a new sound system. Then we headed over to my parents' house in Kirkland and enjoyed the sunshine and delicious food together. Connor was spoiled rotten (as you can tell from the photos). It was a great time. I always love spending time with my family and feel especially spoiled to get to see Jon as often as I do now that he is back in Kirkland :)
Next time...GENDER REVEAL!!!
