It's crazy to think that this is our third Fourth of July living in our Sammamish house. We had just moved in and were pregnant with Connor the first time we enjoyed the Fourth in Sammamish. That was when I found out that babies on the womb will definitely react to loud fireworks. Pretty sure Connor was the craziest he'd ever been the night we got back from the Sammamish Commons park after the fireworks show. I barely slept for all his kicking. I felt pretty bad for him actually. Last Fourth of July we were in Michigan and Dave and I both don't remember what we did...I know I helped pick out a shirt for Zach with Linda for a summer wedding he and Kara were attending...pretty sure we were in bed by 10. Womp womp. This Fourth of July though, we got to enjoy an amazing cook-out with neighbors and friends in the Walter's newly redone backyard!!
We feel so blessed to have such wonderful friends who live within walking distance of us. It's really crazy that in just two and a half years this place has really started to feel like home. We really love Sammamish and feel so lucky to have ended up here.
We are also super lucky that our friends are not only great company, but they also throw great parties and make delicious food :) There were tasty burgers and hot dogs, grilled corn on the cob, jalapeño poppers, fresh salad, cookies, and the prettiest angel food cake, and star-shaped, red, white, and blue Jello! YUM! Although
we didn't make it to the fireworks show this year...and probably won't be staying up to watch the fireworks for at least a few more years, it was just a wonderful Fourth of July. Icing on the cake was getting to Skype with Bruce and Linda this morning and knowing that we get to do some more grilling tomorrow with my family!
Happy birthday America. You sure are swell!
