I've been taking it a little slower these days. The holidays really wiped us out and I've been enjoying keeping things simple and only working on projects I'm really excited about. I decided to try my hand at weaving. A wall in our house was begging for a weaving and I hate buying things I know I can make.
My first attempt was a serious hot mess. I hated it. But that's just how the creative process goes sometimes. Occasionally I'll try a new thing and nail it first try. More often though, its more frustrating than refreshing. A favorite calligrapher of mine says: "create something today, even if it sucks". Those creations might not make it front and center on the blog or instagram or whatever, but they happen more often than not.
I've already dismantled the failed weaving in hopes of reusing pieces for another, but here's some photos of the successful one. it's imperfect and a little lopsided but I sort of love it that way. I think it tells the story better that way.
