Preschool + Kindergarten Week 1 Worksheets

Today is the day I become a Home School Mom (temporarily). Schools all across Washington are closed due to the coronavirus outbreak, which means the boys are home from school with me and we are going to try our very best to have some structure in our lives. I know a lot of people are having their lives turned upside down right now so I wanted to share the Week 1 set of work sheets I have made for my two older boys (kindergarten and preschool). I wanted them to be coordinated to help me be able to teach both of them at once. We will be working our way through the alphabet and numbers 1-10. My main goal here is to help them keep track of what they’ve already learned in school, and keep things fun. If they grow in their learning thats a huge bonus. Hopefully they will!

The first two pages above are for my kindergartener. He is to write as many uppercase and lowercase Bs as he can. Then as many 2s as he can, and solve a very simple math problem. I will be hopefully alternating days on writing/reading/math. So technically this set of worksheets could last more than a single week depending on how “class” time goes each day.

The second two pages here are for my preschooler. He is not super interested in sitting and writing so getting him to trace just one single large B and one single large 2 is a win in my book. We try to talk about letters, numbers, and colors throughout the day as well. He does better with more active play so we try to sneak it in organically.

The final three pages are a three part art and writing project. Cut out the bat parts on page two and glue them on to page 1. Then tell a story about the bat. This gives my kindergartener great writing practice and is definitely challenging for him right now. Have fun! We were laughing about the ways to describe the bats. It doesn’t have to be too serious ;) Good luck out there and stay safe!
